Building Leaders for Advancing Science and Technology (BLAST) - BLAST is a program of NASA’s Virginia Space Grant Consortium offering students a unique opportunity to explore their passion for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields through immersive experiences and career exploration. This free program allows selected students to spend 3 days and nights at either ODU, RU, UVA, VT, or W&M. Led by university faculty, students engage in hands-on STEM activities, attend demonstrations, tours, and guest speaker sessions. Boulé Health Careers - The Boulé Health Careers program allows teens to explore various health careers through hands-on interactions with health care providers currently working in the field, helping youth to pursue their interest in health care careers and to grow and develop as leaders in their community. The first session will be held Monday, October 14, 2021, and the 2nd Monday of each month thereafter. Click here for more information and to apply.
Course Planning Night - Join us for an evening of course planning information, from graduation requirements to course descriptions. More information will be shared as the event approaches, but save the date for January 23, 2025 from 6:30 PM-8:00 PM.
Financial Aid 101 Webinars hosted by LUV and VASFAA - High school students, parents, and guardians interested in learning about the 2025-26 FAFSA, financial aid process, and available aid are invited to join this informational webinar on Thursday, December 5, 2024 or December 12, 2024, at 6:00 PM. Governor's School for Science and Technology Application - Current 10th grade students may apply to the Governor's School for Science and Technology (GSST). The GSST is a highly competitive program for high-achieving and highly motivated students with a focus on science, mathematics, technology, and advanced research. Military Child of the Year - Do you know a military child that demonstrates resilience, strength of character, and the ability to thrive in the face of the challenges of the military life? Nominating them as a Military Child of the Year! Operation Homefront’s Military Child of the Year Awards celebrate and recognize the tremendous achievements of outstanding military children. Each year, hundreds of military teens (ages 13- 18) are nominated by a parent, teacher, mentor or guardian. Nominations will be accepted September 10-December 2. Click here for more information. New Horizons Site Visit and Applications - Representatives will be at GHS on Friday, December 6th, during lunch blocks to share about the wonderful possibilities New Horizons has to offer. The New Horizons portal will be open for applications from November 1, 2024 and close on March 1, 2025. Please refer to the links below for more information.

Pathways2Careers - The Pathways2Careers program connects high school students with businesses in the Greater Williamsburg area. Each business tour takes place in the evening, and dinner is provided. Students will have the opportunity to apply for internships and externships with P2C Business Partners. The program is open to students in grades 9-12. Students in grades 11 and 12 will also have the opportunity to interview to receive one of two college or trade school scholarships. There is no cost to participate in the program. School of the Arts - Current 8th-11th grade students across the division are invited to apply to the School of the Arts (SOA). Their next audition dates will be in January 2025 for students applying for the 2025-2026 school year. Click here for more information and to apply. To be guaranteed a spot in the January 2025 auditions, applications must be received by Tuesday, December 17, 2024. (Recently extended!)
